What tire pressure should I use?
Use the number on the sticker inside the driver's door jamb — not the one on the tire sidewall (that's the maximum, not the recommended). For most cars, that's 32–35 psi cold. Check monthly; tires lose ~1 psi per month and per 10 °F temperature drop.

When should I check tire pressure?
When the tires are cold — before driving, or after the car has sat 3+ hours. Driving warms the air inside and inflates the reading by 4–6 psi.
Should I add nitrogen instead of air?
Marginal benefit at best — air is already 78% nitrogen. Not worth paying extra for unless you're racing or rarely drive.
What's a safe tread depth?
Above 4/32" for wet roads, above 2/32" is the legal minimum in most places. Insert a coin upside down; if you see the top of the head, replace.
When should I check pressure?
First thing in the morning before driving; heat adds a few psi.
TPMS light stays on — safe?
Drive to a station and check all four. If it persists after correct pressure, a sensor probably needs service.
