Chapter 15 — Fitness & Exercise
How should I start strength training?
Two to three full-body sessions a week. Squat, deadlift, bench press, row, overhead press, pull-up. Start lighter than you think, learn form (record yourself), add weight small increments. Progress is boring and works.
Follow-up questions
Do I need a trainer?
For 4–8 sessions, hugely worth it for form. Starting Strength or 5/3/1 programs work if you're disciplined.
Free weights or machines?
Both work. Free weights build stabilizers and transfer better; machines are safer for going to failure and beginners.
